Privacy
What this site records, what it does not, and who uses cookies — on one page.
What this site records
The site is served by a small self-hosted server. Each time a page is opened, the server writes one line containing only:
- the time
- which page (the URL path)
- the page you came from (the referrer, if your browser sends one)
- your browser's user-agent string, e.g. "Chrome on Windows"
- country, e.g. TW or US
- whether the page was served normally (status code)
No IP addresses are logged, and this site sets no cookies. There is no third-party analytics. The log is used to see which articles get read and where readers come from.
Traffic passes through Cloudflare first; the country above is Cloudflare's estimate, passed along to the server.
Comments
The comment section under each article is giscus, and comments are stored in GitHub Discussions. Commenting requires signing in with GitHub; that sign-in and your comments are handled by GitHub and giscus under GitHub's privacy statement. Reading without commenting needs no sign-in.
Ads
This site is preparing to run Google AdSense ads. Ads are not on yet.
Once enabled, Google and its partners use cookies to choose ads based on your previous visits to this site or other sites.
