Volume or Price: What Is That Growth Made Of?
Enter revenue growth and unit-shipment growth to see how much of it came from price. The same 40% can mean two completely different things.
When a report says revenue grew 40%, that could mean the company sold 40% more things — or that the same things got 40% more expensive. Opposite meanings, identical headlines.
The math is simple: revenue equals price times quantity. If you know revenue growth and unit growth, price growth falls out.
Try setting unit growth to 0: revenue still grows 40%, but every point of it came from price.
